Victoria Foods is one of the largest milling companies in Zimbabwe and has a long history of milling excellence. Our Victoria brands are a cut above the rest as a result of our diligent attention to quality.
Why Victoria Foods
Victoria Foods celebrates 75 years of high quality self raising, plain flour, roller and refined mealie-meal as well as pre-packed dry foods such as rice, kapenta, salt, sugar beans, sugar and popcorn.
Victoria Foods has three mills (two in Gweru and one in Harare). The Victoria wheat and maize mills each produce 150 metric tonnes of flour and maize meal per day respectively.
Victoria Foods uses the semi automated German manufactured Bühler milling equipment. Bühler is a global market leader in the supply of flour and maize meal production plants.

Victoria cake flour
Our cake flour produces the perfect bake for softer cakes and comes in a range of attractive packs with a recipe on the side panel. Our cake flour is fluffier, lighter, fine and whiter and is consistently reliable.
Victoria Self Raising flour
Offers real value for money, is convenient and easy to use and is packed in various sizes from 500g to 50kg.
Victoria Brown flour
Rich in fibre and roughage, our brown flour is healthier and more nutritious and produces the perfect bread and rolls every time and is packed in sizes ranging from 1kg to 50kg to suit individuals’ needs.
Victoria Mealie meal
From the more refined Pearl white to the highly fibrous Economy Roller Meal, Victoria offers a wide range of nutritious, super quality maize meal products that provide energy and roughage to the entire family.
Our Roller Meal brand has an extended shelf life as compared to hammer milled meal whilst the Pearl White brand has a finer texture, tastes smoother, is easy to cook and requires less meal than other less refined maize meals. These are packed in quantities ranging from 5kg to 50kg.
Victoria Rice range
Packed in sizes ranging from 500g to 50kg, Victoria Rice has a short grain, offers value for money, cooks well and doubles in size when cooked. Victoria Oriental Rice – imported from Thailand – has a clean and very white long grain which does not require to be washed before cooking and cooks fluffier and has a tasty flavour.
Mount Mulanje Rice has a long grain with a distinct aroma during cooking, has an exceptionally delicious flavour and is imported direct from Mt Mulanje in Malawi.
Victoria offers fine Iodised Table Salt which is free flowing, has ease of application and is white; as well as Iodised Coarse Salt with small grains which offers a health advantage and comes in a wide range of packet sizes from 500g to 50kg.
We donate to the less privileged
In accordance with a formalized budget Victoria Foods donates to schools, churches and the less privileged and various institutions including but not limited to Diggleford Primary School, Mbare AFM church and Anglican Church.
Recipe of Choice
- 3 tea cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon mixed spice
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons old brown sugar or ¼ cup tea
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 teaspoons almond essence
- 1 lemon grated rind
- 4 eggs
- 4 tablespoons milk, sherry or brandy
- 1 tablespoon treacle
- Sieve together all the dry ingredients
- Mix and peel cherries, fruits, almond essence and lemon rind
- Whisk the eggs, milk and sherry or brandy together
- Cream the fat, sugar and black treacle until soft
- Add the flour and egg mixture alternatively to the creamed mixture – do not overheat when mixing
- Lastly, stir in the fruit mixture and put into the cake tin, lined inside with double thickness of greased paper round the sides and brown paper and grease proof paper at the bottom (not necessarily)
- Bake for 3 ½ hours or 180oC for 1 ½ hours
- Cool in cake tin, then store in airtight tin. Bake this cake 3 weeks before required

The wheat or maize used in the milling of flour and mealie-meal is sourced from both local and international suppliers. We do not use GMO wheat or maize in our milling process in line with government policy.
All imported grains undergo GMO Free Certification before they are used in the milling operations.
Distribution of our products is done through our depots located throughout the various towns and cities in Zimbabwe. Victoria Foods products are transported countrywide through its range of delivery vehicles from small 3tonne trucks to 30tonne trucks through a sister company Kobenhaven. Specialized bulk tanker trucks are used to deliver bulk flour to bakeries.
